Today is the final day of SunFest 2013! Come up (or down) to West Palm Beach, and come early! Here’s a few little nuggets about Sunday’s opening acts:

Future Prezidents

These Palm Beach residents write that they are influenced by Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Thievery Corporation, Rage Against The Machine, and “all good universal vibrations.”

What caught my attention was the band member’s nicknames! They all have one: Boe “Bugs” Simeonov,, Mat “Medium-Rare” HuntsBerger, Nate “Money” Largent, Hunter “Hatchet” Hutchings, Johnny “Bosie” Boes, and Marco “The Mad Scientist” Topic.

We can’t wait to see what anyone dubbed “the Mad Scientist” has up their sleeve. This group takes the Tire Kingdom Stage at noon today.

Making Faces

Another local act getting a big sunny break is the funky rock group Making Faces. This quartet is no stranger to the South Florida scene. You may have caught their beachy-rock vibe previously at the South Florida Fair, Respectable Street, DaDa or the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.

The quartet will open for the Barenaked Ladies on the Ford Stage at 1 p.m.

UNRB

Watch our Edward Sharpe and Jonnie Morgan, there’s another stand out, multi-member act on SunFest’s lineup. UNRB has seven members and two saxophones. (I am obsessed with saxophone sounds.)

The ska-rock-jazz act won the Songwriter’s Showcases of America’s “Most Unique Style” award in 2011.

I still don’t have the scoop on what their name means, but I hope to find out. This jazzy group will perform at 1 p.m. on the FPL Stage.

Of course, I am most excited to bop around to tonight’s big headliners, including Gavin DeGraw, Boz Scaggs and Kendrick Lamar! See you at noon!
