I hope everyone had a great Wednesday and is excited for another evening of music, cold drinks, and local grub.

Here is a quick rundown about the bands you can’t miss today:

Speaking Volumes
Stage/Time: Tire Kingdom, 5:45 – 6:30 p.m.
Hometown: South Florida
Why you should arrive early: The five-piece band Speaking Volumes will open up Thursday with some ear-tingling guitar work and quick rhymes. The act played SunFest back in 2010 and they drew a note-worthy crowd. This year should be no different. Check in, smear on your sunscreen, and stroll up to the stage.

The Edge Effect
Stage/Time: Ford, 6:15 – 7:00 p.m.
Hometown: Orlando, FL
Why you should listen: The men of the Edge Effect have received a lot of love from popular TV shows. The artists have come from MTV’s “Top Pop Group,” Boyz II Men’s “Next Great A Cappella Group,” and “America’s Got Talent.” Together, they make beautiful genre-blurring musc. I’m always impressed by groups powered almost exclusively by their voices. Plus, they list acts ranging from Prince and U2, to Passion Pit and Muse as their influences. This should be good!

Aer
Stage/Time: Time Kingdom, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Hometown: Wayland, MA
Why you should listen: This New England duo blends rap, reggae, pop and indie rock to deliver smooth sounds for a younger audience. Their EP “What You Need” edged to the No. 1 spot on the iTune Hip-Hop chart, which is impressive for a budding act. Aer is going to help amp up the energy for headliners Sublime with Rome, so give them a little listen.

Sky Blu (of LMFAO)
Stage/Time: Ford, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Why you should listen: Mr. Blu is the slightly younger, just as crazy, half of the electro-pop group LMFAO. A few years ago, he suffered a back injury (three herniated discs and a cracked vertebra) that kept him from letting loose on stage, but now the Grammy-nominated artist is back! The “Party President” went solo last summer and now he’ll be bringing his party rock music to SunFest tonight. Wear your neon, bounce on a barge, and then move over to Mr. Blu!

I’ll have recaps of Robin Thicke and Sublime with Rome tonight!
