California’s Train Take SunFest

There’s a really good chance I’m going to quote “Drops of Jupiter” today. I’ll probably use every java junkie’s most romantic one liner ever about “the best soy latte that you’ve ever had and me,” while I caff up for Thursday’s performances.

That’s because Train is performing. The seven-piece alternative group that practically bleeds San Francisco is hitting our SunFest stage. These guys are so California, the song “Calling All Angels” played before every LA Angels baseball home game in 2010. And now, we’ve got them in Florida. Equally sunny, slightly less alfalfa sprouts and yeast plate-y.

Going to see Train play means the opportunity to hear songs off of its eight studio albums since the 90’s. It also means getting to hear some of the group’s countless hits including “Hey, Soul Sister,” “Marry Me,” “If It’s Love,” and more. They’ve also taken home a couple of Grammy awards as we reported. Seriously, Train has more singles since its founding than SunFest has bands playing between today and tomorrow. And that’s saying something, because that’s a lot of bands — 15 to be exact, but who’s counting?

SEE THEM LIVE:
