SunFest hopes that all guests enjoy the festival and recognizes that some people need accessibility-related assistance. Many access-related questions are answered below. For additional inquiries, please contact us at info at sunfest.com
SunFest is held on city streets and parks. The terrain includes asphalt, concrete, grass, and curbs. The festival site is over 1/2-mile long and parking can be a distance from the gate. SunFest does not provide shuttle or push service. Please come prepared to get around the site on your own! Some people have found that electric wheelchairs and scooters make all the difference.
Access Assistance at the Information Centers
All on-site Information Centers are the headquarters for access-related information and services. Information Center staff and volunteers are available to answer questions and assist in other ways as needed.
Handicap parking will be available on Datura Street on the 200 block Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the 300 and 400 block will provide handicapped parking. A valid disability-parking permit is required to park in these locations. Please note that parking locations are subject to change without notice.
Stage Area Seating
All major stage areas throughout the festival grounds offer raised platforms and/or other designated viewing areas for guests in wheelchairs. One adult and any family members under the age of 18 may accompany each person with a disability. If an area becomes over crowded, the security guard or volunteer representative may ask companions to leave the area and make way for people with mobility disabilities. Please note that all wheelchair seating areas have limited capacity.
Sign Language Interpreters/Assisted Listening Devices for Musical Performances
Sign language can be provided for specific musical performances upon request by contacting the SunFest office at (561) 659-5980 or email at info at SunFest.com. A minimum of two weeks prior notice is required so that an interpreter can be secured and materials/lyrics can be obtained from the artist. Assisted Listening Devices are available at the SunFest Information Center located on Flagler Drive between North and South Clematis Streets.
Wheelchair Accessible Restrooms
Wheelchair Port-o-lets are available at each restroom area. Accessible facilities are also available at the Tire Kingdom Stage.
Wheelchairs are available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis at the festival’s North Information Center, located on Flagler Drive, between North and South Clematis Streets. A Drivers License and imprint from a major credit card are required. The three stages feature special seating for persons in wheelchairs.
Service animals are allowed on the grounds provided the animal does not pose a danger or threat to other service animals or patrons. Owners of service animals are responsible for the animal’s personal care. Water for service animals is located at each Information Center.
Power wheelchairs and three or four-wheeled scooters are allowed for use by people with mobility disabilities. Two-wheeled scooters or other vehicles are not allowed.
SunFest asks for as much notice as possible and needs a minimum of two weeks’ notice for any requests for accommodation not already covered by our Access Assistance Program.
