Paul Rodgers’ Rock n Roll Fantasy Comes True

I caught only one song of the journeyman rocker’s set at the Tire Kingdom Stage last night, but what I saw made it very clear that Paul Rodgers is some sort of prophet. There he was, veteran of Free and Bad Company—two hard-rocking, chart-topping bands whose heyday was decades ago—playing to a huge, adoring audience. (Word is the amphitheatre VIP was sold out in advance for the only time this weekend.) As he sang that 1979 hit and those familiar words—It’s all part of my rock n roll fantasy/It’s all part of my rock n roll dream—I got the sense that Rodgers had predicted his own future all those years ago and made his fantasy come true.
